Dr. Wanda Corn, the Robert and Ruth Halperin Professor Emeritus in Art History at Stanford University, will discuss how Georgia O’Keeffe and other early 20th-century artists embraced change in the ways they led their personal lives as well as the ways they made art. To more fully understand modernist practices, this talk explores artists’ choice of everyday dress, paying particular attention to Georgia O’Keeffe. At Stanford since 1980, Dr. Corn was the University’s first permanent appointment in the history of American art. Dr. Corn is well known for the caliber of her scholarship as well as her engaging presentations.
