Staff Positions

Under the general supervision of the Visitor Experience and PMA Store Manager, responsible for providing exceptional visitor experience with a thorough understanding of Portland Museum of Art (PMA) information, while selling admission, memberships and PMA product; promoting programs and events; and providing information and customer service support. Supports PMA goals of building audiences, developing and strengthening constituent relationships, and maximizing revenue.

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, maintains the museum’s buildings and grounds to ensure fulfillment of museum standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.

Under the direction of the Director, leads the continuing transformation of fundraising efforts at the Portland Museum of Art (PMA). Serves as a key cultivator and solicitor of donors, inspires constituents to higher levels of giving, and works collaboratively with museum staff and volunteers to ensure success in building strong constituent relationships and supporting the PMA’s strategic goal to build financial strength and sustainability.

Volunteer Positions

Intern will assist the Director of Learning and Interpretation and L&I staff to help visitors make connections to the PMA collection and special exhibits through programming and in-gallery experiences.

The Learning and Interpretation department strives to encourage curiosity and wonder for all visitors to the PMA.  By offering audiences of all ages opportunities to connect with authentic works of art through programs that offer open-ended experiences, intellectual rigor and exploration of the creative process, we intend to impact the lives of PMA audiences.
