Laura Fecych Sprague offers a lecture on this little-known chapter in Portland's history, highlighting the school and the objects made by its students, from charming drawings and penmanship to exuberant needlework and paint-decorated furniture.

As part of the 2-day, 16-venue, 100+ artist strong Waking Windows festival, the PMA co-presents A Life in Waves, a documentary about the life and innovations of Suzanne Ciani. Before and after the film, festival and museum goers are invited to explore a vintage synthesizer "petting zoo," hosted by Portland's Weirder than Stranger Things Synth club. Waking Windows passholders will receive free entry to the September 30th, 2pm screening.
